About the Artist

“Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time” ~ Thomas Merton

"Creativity lives in the soul..."

Amy was born in Victoria, BC and grew up in various parts of British Columbia’s beautiful West Coast.  Her work showcases a fun and unique style inspired by the West Coast as well as her travels.  Constantly evolving by incorporating new mediums and techniques she will keep you on your toes with unexpected genres.  However, if there is one thing she is known for it’s for her use of bright, popping colors.  Not just an artist, but a self-proclaimed “creative”,  she believes that “creatives” see the world just a little bit differently, and that creativity lives in the soul and touches all aspects of one’s life.

From a young age, Amy would draw and paint with anything and on anything, including her grandparent’s walls.  She went on to win various art competitions during her primary and secondary school years. She further cultivated her art skills while attending Camosun College and the University of Victoria where her elected focus was Art Education.

After graduating, Amy began working in the post-secondary sector, then moved on to apply her creative skills to marketing for the tourism sector in Ecuador and Galapagos Islands with her husband. Upon her return from Ecuador, she was diagnosed with Leukemia, and moved to Vancouver, BC to receive treatment.  During her 2-year battle with cancer she turned to painting and art to bring her solace during an incredibly difficult time.  It was through that triumphant battle that she decided to focus primarily on her art and to share it with the rest of the world.
